Oakdene residents come together for Easter

On Sunday 24th April, the residents at Ocean Grove’s Oakdene Estate came together as a community to celebrate Easter. With approximately 300 attendees, it was a lovely day out for the young families who live at Oakdene.

The event included a free easter egg hunt for children, with over 2,000 Cadbury easter eggs handed out by a Cadbury Easter Bunny. The local CFA had one of their emergency vehicles on display for kids to climb on, Cameron Ling, ex-Geelong AFL player played kick-to-kick, and free face-painting and kids games added to the fun at the Devlins Road playground. Free bacon and eggs rolls and hot cross buns along with coffee and other beverages were also on offer. The residents of the estate loved coming together as a community, especially as Oakdene is thriving with many young families.

All food, beverage and entertainment was sourced from local businesses. The event attracted hundreds of locals with many asking for another event. We are currently planning for our next event in September, which will coincide with the AFL Grand Final. The event will be even bigger, with plenty of free food and beverages, entertainment and freebies for our residents.
